It is no secret that Wynwood has been undergoing a resurgence that has never been seen before. Developer Moshi Mana owns over 30 acres in Wynwood and plans to develop the area into a public square, tech and media hubs, beauty and fashion hub, art hub, plazas for open air shopping, courtyards, parks, etc. The initiative includes an Asian-Latin American Trade Center, Mana Museum/ Contemporary Art Museum amongst other developments on site including hotels, retail, industrial, commercial and recreational space. The area will also be landscaped to hold events such as Art Basel and Wynwood Art Walk.
Moshie Mana has also teamed up with Luxury Brand Partners to bring a brand new initiative to Wynwood. Construction is expected to begin on January on a 244K SF, 9 story mixed-use building targeted at the beauty industry. Mana's aim is for the building to serve as a base for hair stylists, designers, make-up artists, estheticians, etc. The project will also feature an 84-room hotel, office space, showrooms, bars and restaurants. Mana purchased the property out of bankruptcy in 2010.
Mana plans to make Wynwood a cultural destination for Latin America and the Caribbean. With such great development going on in Miami, it will be interesting to see how the new Wynwood will play out with the rest of development in Midtown and Downtown. Mana has said that he would like to provide an area that is affordable yet attractive for urban young professionals. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project.
